Symposium on The Global Transformation

The always-excellent blog collective The Disorder of Things is currently running a symposium on Barry Buzan and George Lawson's new book on the nineteenth century, The Global Transformation: History, Modernity and the Making of International Relations. I've contributed a piece to the symposium dealing with periodization, modernity, and the ubiquitousness of imperial configurations in global history. Please head over there and give my contribution a read, along with the rest of what is shaping up to be a great symposium.
